Falanghina is a white grape variety, mainly grown in the provinces of Naples, Benevento and Avellino.
Many versions of the origin of the name: those who say that it derives from the term "Falernina", that is, a direct descendant of the White Falerno; from “falango”, that is “pole”, for the characteristic type of viticulture; from "phalanx" or "phalanx", according to the thesis that the grape remembers the appearance of a finger.
